"WINDOWS OF HOPE FAMILY RELIEF FUND" ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE AID TO VICTIMS OF SEPTEMBER 11 WORLD TRADE CENTER ATTACK

Restaurant and Food Service Communities in U.S. and Abroad Asked To Rally Behind Fund To Raise Money for Families of Food Industry Personnel Who Perished

New York - September 21-- The "Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund" has been established by David Emil, owner of Windows on the World, and the restaurant's Executive Chef, Michael Lomonaco. The fund will provide aid to the families of all members of the food and beverage industry who were lost in the World Trade Center tragedy on September 11, 2001.

In addition to Windows on the World, many foodservice operations were in existence throughout the World Trade Center complex. Of the 450 employees who worked at Windows on the World, 78 are reported still missing, while the exact number of other missing food service employees is not yet available. Lomonaco believes that number could be significant.

"Many of the food service workers at the World Trade Center were, by and large, wage earners with the least financial and other resources available to them," said Lomonaco. "Spouses have been left with reduced income, and children without a parent. Restaurants are a familial business. So in light of those who lost their lives while trying to provide for their families, we intend to offer our support as their extended family. This fund is one way we will be able to do that," Lomonaco added. J. P. Morgan Chase & Co. and David Berdon & Co. LLP will administer the fund.

How to Participate:

On October 11, 2001, restaurants and foodservice establishments throughout the U.S. and abroad are donating at least ten (10) percent of their day's proceeds to the Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund. Restaurants and food and beverage industry companies and organizations are encouraged to participate in this initiative. The public is encouraged to support this fund and the entire restaurant industry by going out to dine on October 11 and everyday in between.
